Mike McMullen, former MLB Pitcher, takes the helm for IWA Softball

IWA Athletics is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Coach Mike McMullen, a distinguished addition to our team.

Hailing originally from Los Angeles, CA, Coach Mike boasts an impressive career as a former professional pitcher for the San Francisco Giants from 1993 to 2000, culminating his journey with the Minnesota Twins and Royals in 2001.

McMullen brings his extensive coaching expertise to Incarnate Word Academy, having previously served as head softball coach at Rosati Kain in 2023, alongside over 20 years of experience coaching high school softball, baseball, and football.

"I am genuinely excited to embark on this journey and lead this program with my wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and strong commitment. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to further elevate the success of the softball program and collaborate with the athletes, families, and staff members at Incarnate. My primary focus will revolve around imparting valuable life skills through sport, emphasizing fundamentals, fostering player development, and cultivating a culture of hard work, all while nurturing a profound love for the game," expressed McMullen enthusiastically.

Beyond coaching, McMullen is the proud owner of an insurance agency here in St. Louis, and cherishes his roles as a devoted husband to wife Jessica and a loving father to Kaden, Kalli, and Gracie.
