On Saturday at Park Hills Central High School, that feeling felt like a state trip as the Red Knights' 800-meter relay team crushed the field and captured the Class 3 Sectional 1 title with a school-record time of 1 minute and 43.80 seconds.
"I don't know how it works, but it works," Incarnate Word coach Sherron Seals said. "We have a lot of fluctuation between meets, so it's harder to get those set marks, but they're so successful without those set marks."
When asked about the lack of marks, sophomore Mackenzie Smart said she prefers how the Red Knights have done it.
