Angela Zielinski, '99 ~ Art

After graduating from Incarnate Word Academy, Angie attended Millikin University. With an interest in fine arts, Angie double majored in art and arts management, then art and art therapy. During her junior year, Angie studied abroad in London, England, where she studied painting at the Slade School of Art at University College of London. The following summer she spent a month studying drawing and art history at Centro Studio Italiani in Urbania, Italy. She graduated with a B.F.A. in studio art from Millikin University with an emphasis in painting and printmaking. In pursuit of a more intense level of study, Angie attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University and graduated with an M.F.A. in 2-Dimensional studies. Angie has been in juried and invitational shows regionally and nationally. Recently her work has been showcased at: the Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo, Ohio, the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta, Georgia, and the Gallery Project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She had her first solo show in Toledo, Ohio at the Parkwood Gallery where she completed an installation show made entirely of common-use materials that dealt with themes of celebration and chaos. In 2007, she took a position as Assistant Professor of Art at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho and teaches undergraduate and graduate-level painting and drawing, while simultaneously pursuing her own art career.
